Single Purpose

HDVideoDL Helper allows users to start browser-managed downloads from direct video and audio links parsed on hdvideodl.com, including links that require supported request headers.

What The Website Processes

When a user submits a public video URL, HDVideoDL uses server-side parsing tools to retrieve metadata and available media format links. The server may store parse request records, cache metadata, cache direct format-link results for a short period, and record operational information such as request status, source host, user agent, IP address, cache state, and error messages.

HDVideoDL does not host, re-upload, or store downloaded video files. Most video and audio downloads are requested by the user's browser from the source URL or source CDN. For source links that are bound to the parsing server IP address, HDVideoDL may temporarily relay the selected media stream to the user's browser without storing the media file.

What The Extension Handles

The extension receives a user-initiated download request from hdvideodl.com. That request can include a direct media URL, a suggested filename, and supported request headers needed for that specific download.

The extension starts the download through the browser download manager and can temporarily attach supported request headers to the download request. The extension does not send media URLs, downloaded files, browsing history, or page content to the extension developer.

Extension Permissions

• downloads: used to start a browser-managed download after the user clicks a download button on hdvideodl.com.
• declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess: used to temporarily attach supported request headers, such as Referer, Origin, User-Agent, and Accept-Language, to user-initiated download requests when required by the parsed media URL.
• host access: required because source CDN domains are not known before the user parses a video link. The content script runs only on hdvideodl.com, while broad host access allows browser-managed direct downloads from parsed source CDN URLs.

Remote Code

The extension does not execute remotely hosted code. All extension JavaScript, HTML, and assets are packaged with the submitted extension.

Data Sharing And Sale

HDVideoDL Helper does not sell user data, does not transfer user data for unrelated purposes, and does not use user data for creditworthiness, lending, or advertising profiling.
